Hi Folks,
YIPEE!!! Dr. Pearce called this afternoon to say that Dawn is ready to be discharged! The infection is all cleared up and she is off antibiotics. I've talked with Liz and with Ann-Marie (her Foster Mom in Franklin) this afternoon and we've made plans for me to pick Dawn up tomorrow morning before 12:00 and then take her to Anne-Marie's Sunday. (We are not going Saturday because I have about 15 people coming to dinner Saturday night! Fortunately, it is a covered dish and I'm only doing the meat.) We should arrive in Franklin around 1:00 or so. Dawn will have more posts on her blog I'm sure that will give you details of the discharge, overnight at our house, and her arrival at Anne-Marie's. You guys are going to love this gal. She is not shy in the least and loves to eat. She just turned 2 on Feb 1st, so there is still some puppyness in her.
More later ....
Nina
P.S. I've talked Debutante in going with me so I will have some company on my return trip to Memphis. You can't believe how much progress this shy little one has made since her arrival in Memphis and in our hearts last July!

Dinner time....YUM YUM
WOW! It has been a couple of weeks since I've been able to post, but you remember I have to depend on Nina to get it done. She came by this afternoon for another long visit and got to watch me eat. The staff put us in an exam room and then brought my dinner. The service around here is fantastic! Believe me, I know what to do when you put food in front of me! No problems there and I am maintaining my weight. This morning Dr. Pearce told the staff to leave the dressing off my leg today after it was soaked, but they are supposed to dress it before they leave for the night. I believe they are to do the same thing tomorrow ... dressing off and muzzle on during the day.... dressing on and muzzle on during the night. I so enjoyed all the ear stratches and neck rubs from Nina. I think I got that part of retirement figured out, so I'm really looking forward to a forever home that will provide lots of that.

YIPEE another visit.....
Hi Folks, I know you have been waiting to hear from me, but as you know I have to depend on Nina to get my posts on the blog. Well, she came by Friday afternoon and stayed with me a long time. Dr. Pearce came into our room and I heard him say that the infection is well under control and I have good skin growth over my wound. I'm tolerating the antibiotics and keeping my weight up where it should be. I am really trying to be good because Dr. Pearce and all his staff really love me and are working hard to take good care of me, but I want to get on with my retirement. I know I still have a ways to go before I can start to look for my forever home, but may be there is someone reading this right now that is thinking I just might be the perfect addition to their family. I sure hope so. Nina said that is how Debutante found her forever home with them. Deb's pictures and her blog helped Nina and Bob know that she was meant to be theirs. I know my Foster Mom, Anne-Marie in Franklin is looking forward to helping me recover fully so I can find my forever home. But first things first, I must concentrate on getting better ....
