Company!

Today was the day for very special company..first, there was this big handsome brindle boy named Ivan..my foster mom really liked him! I must admit he was tall, dark, and handsome!

There were humans and a small fluffly dog too! First, I tried to win them over with my award wining smile :-)

Then, I tried to play hard to get. Hope it worked! Dawn

Hanging in the Hallway...

I've decided to spend some time in the hallway, first I bend up the runner to make a nice pillow.

I even roach against the wall sometimes but my foster mom can never get a picture of that!

Truth is, the AC vent is the hallway and my foster mom says that makes me one really smart greyhound!

Cleaning Day

I got to go in a different room today--my foster mom said I needed to help her clean out the extra bedroom. It sure was messy!

It did not take me long though before I began to check all the boxes out...and I found the hat box! Do I look like a southern belle???

Ahoy there! It's Pirate Dawn ARRRRRRR!!!!

I am channeling my inner Mickey Mouse?

And before I knew it...the room was cleaned up! Maybe it was magic? Dawn.

I've been Collared!

Ok First, I was having a good time hanging out with my foster brother Arvin.

Then I began messing with my leg again, even if
I am muzzled I just can't leave it alone. So I had this
collar put on me. It makes me think of Scarlett O'Hounda.
With God as my Witness, I will NEVER wear this collar again!
Note from foster mom..yes she will if it helps!

Hanging Out....

Hi everyone...I have settled back in just fine, and am happy just to chill out while my leg heals. The worst part is leaving it alone! As you can see, my foster family is very supportive. Dawn.

I'm Back!!!!

It's true...I have had such an adventure today! I left Memphis with my foster mom Nina. She has been such blessing for me....I am so lucky to have two foster homes and two foster families that love me! Are we there yet Nina??

Now I am back in Franklin..resting after a long day of traveling. I am under close supervision so my leg will heal quickly. Guess what Aunt Lou! I LOVE DQ Ice Cream! Dawn......

Goodbyes and Hellos .... On the road again

I've been hanging out in Memphis at Bob and Nina's for a month and going to see Dr. Pearce 2 or 3 times a week for bandage changes. Recently, Barney, the lab-mix puppy, and I have been enjoying some playtime in the house under very careful supervision, of course. But I had to say my goodbyes to them this morning. Then we went to see Dr. Pearce and his staff for goodbyes and one last check. My bandage has been off since Thursday and now I have to wear my muzzle so I son't lick/chew the wounds. Dr. Pearce is really very pleased with the healing process. After Nina and I left his clinic, we stopped by to pick up her best friend, Karen, and then we headed east. Nina told me that we were going to meet my foster Mom, Anne Marie, and Auntie Liz at Dairy Queen!!!! She said that is where all the houndies go and it is one of my Auntie Lou's favorite places. Here are some photos of the goodbyes and our road trip. From now on my Foster Mom, Anne Maire, will be getting my blogs posted for me. (Nina: Thanks Dawn for the lovely greyhound earrings you gave me as a Thank You. They are so beautiful I had to wear them home. You are a sweetiepie and we all miss you.)

Red, White, and Blue

Just a quick note from me 'cause Nina said it was important for you to know that all the noise we heard over the weekend did not upset me. She said what we were hearing was something called "firecrackers" and it is common at this time of year. We were all in the house, but the noise in the neighborhood was pretty loud at times and we could hear it inside but it didn't bother me. Matter of fact, Nina hasn't found too many things that do "bother" me. I'm just as laid back as a greyhound can be. You can see from the picture that Aimee and Brett were making sure I was "dressed" for the holiday when they changed my dressing Friday afternoon. I'm what they called "a patrotic hound." My "Auntie" Lou (whom I've not met yet) is proud of me, I'm sure. When Dr. Pearce checked my leg he said it was still looking good and healing the way it should. Oh yea, I guess you have figured out that Husky and I didn't get to leave Memphis last Saturday as we had planned. It is all her fault, too. She had to go and chew through her bandage. Been there .... done that myself!!!
